This city in South-central Ontario midway between Toronto and Windsor was
patterned after the best of London, England. As you might guess, London
has its own Thames River. Close by is Stratford, named for Shakespeare's
home town of Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the internationally acclaimed theater
festival and - of course - its own Avon River.
London also offers a plethora of festivals and special events throughout the
year, including the hotly competitive "London Rib Fest in late July"
where area restaurateurs vie for the coveted title of "Best Ribs."
This event is timed to coincide with London's very large Balloon Festival. MORE

insulin and more. London holds onto its traditions and treasured memories but is
also a modern commercial and industrial center.
For the past century, Londoners have planted around 1,000 trees per year
to keep the area green, earning London the name "Forest City." It is
also a city rich in museums including the London Regional Art and Historical
Museum, the London Museum of Archaeology (where you can find an ongoing dig site
called the Lawson Prehistoric Indian Village) and the Royal Canadian
Regiment Museum. London also boats the Guy Lombardo Museum, where the legendary

travelers of all budgets, London offers a vibrant downtown core, including the
very reasonably priced productions at the Grand Theatre.
