The mission of the museum is to acquire, preserve, study and interpret
the artifacts and arts relating to the heritage of Prince Edward Island Acadians
from 1720 to the present. The Acadian Museum strives to create awareness among
Island Acadians and make them proud of their culture, language and heritage,
contributing to the survival and development of Prince Edward Island's Acadian
community.
Activities include:
- Artifact conservation and cataloguing;
- Permanent exhibit;
- Four annual temporary exhibits;
- School program offered to Island students;
- Various programs for the community such as openings, open houses,
lectures and music concerts;
- Annual events such as the Festival Folk-Acadie, Christmas at the Museum,
Heritage Week, Provincial French Awareness Week;

Beaconsfield was built in 1877 and is open year round for tours, lectures,
and special events. It also serves as the headquarters for the Prince Edward
Island Museum and Heritage Foundation.

The Charlottetown Driving Park first opened it doors for standard bred
harness racing in 1889. This showplace of Maritime harness racing in one of the
most beautiful racetracks.

The Confederation Centre of the Arts is located in downtown Charlottetown and is
bordered by Grafton, Queen and Richmond Streets. The Box Office is located at
the corner of Grafton and Queen Streets.
Celebrating 38 years of Canadian art and culture is a National Memorial to the
Fathers of Confederation. Also included in the building is gallery exhibitions,
a licensed restaurant, and guided tours. Since its inception, The Charlottetown
Festival has sought out and commissioned over 66 new Canadian musicals. The most
popular and successful of The Charlottetown Festival musicals remains Anne of
Green Gables - The Musical?. Since its premiere, over 2-million people have
seen Anne of Green Gables - The Musical? at The Charlottetown Festival.

By appointment, Founders' Hall is open in the off-season for tours and private
functions.
At this cool, vigorous interactive attraction history meets hi-tech.
Founder's Hall is Canada's newest heritage attraction. Visitors are led through
the Time Travel Tunnel and are transported back in time with the use of
multi-million dollar technology, holo-visuals, multi-media interpretation and
interactive displays.
Province House National Historic Site
Province House National Historic Site is located in downtown Charlottetown.
On the North side of the building, is the Trans Canada Highway, on the corner of
Univeristy Avenue and Grafton Street. On the South side, Province House sits at
the intersection of historic Great George and Richmond Streets.
Open daily from mid-June until Labour Day (subject to change).

Considered the "Birthplace of Confederation"and the seat of Prince
Edward Island's provincial legislature since 1847, Province House National
Historic Site stands as a landmark in Charlottetown. Visitors can learn about
the history of the site and the current Legislative Assembly through guided
tours, displays and an audio-visual presentation.
