Backcountry Programs
Let Whistler/ Blackcomb's experienced ACGM guides and instructors take you on a
tour of Whistler's impressive backcountry. Pre-registration is required.
Dog Sledding
Experience one of the most ancient forms of travel over snow. Ask about booking
an exhilarating dog sled ride at the Concierge desk.
Fishing
Sign up for guided winter fishing trips to secret river locations and catch
salmon, steelhead, trout and char.
Flight seeing
Breathtaking scenic glacier tours, landings, heli-picnics, backcountry skiing
and snowshoeing are all options. Charter service is also available from a number
of helicopter companies.
Heli-Skiing
Heli-skiing is the perfect activity for intermediate and advanced skiers looking
to add a thrilling new dimension to their ski vacation.
Ice Skating
Enjoy indoor ice skating or drop-in hockey at Whistler's Meadow Park Sports
Center. Skate rentals are available at the arena. Outdoor skating is also
available at Powder Mountain Lakeside Lodge.
Indoor Rock Climbing
Take part in the largest growing sport in North America at an indoor climbing
wall. The Great Wall Underground is Whistler's climbing center.
Library
Lose yourself in a good book at the Whistler Public Library, located in Village
North.
Mountaintop Sightseeing
Enjoy a spectacular ride on Whistler Mountain's fully enclosed Village Gondola
or on one of Blackcomb's covered express quad chairs. Pick up your sightseeing
passes at the base of either Whistler or Blackcomb Mountains.
Movies
Take in a first run movie at the Rainbow Theatre, located on the lower level of
the Whistler Conference Center.
Museum
Offering exhibits and information on the region, natural history and skiing.
Historical slide shows and valley tours are also available. The Whistler Museum
includes a gift shop and research facilities.
Racquet Sports
Ace your partner on one of the free public courts located throughout
the Whistler Valley or play on one of the three courts available at The Fairmont
Chateau Whistler. Squash courts may be booked in advance at The Meadow Park
Sports Center.
Sleigh Rides
Join in on a cozy sleigh ride through a winter wonderland. Bonfires and
sing-along at an authentic Native teepee are all part of the experience.
Snowmobiling
Tours are available for all levels of experience and qualified guides lead every
tour. A fun and beautiful way to see the mountains and valley from a whole
new point of view.
Snowshoeing
Trek along tranquil forest trails on snowshoes. Guides, instruction and rentals
can all be booked through the Whistler Activity and Information Center or book a
tour through The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Concierge.
Swimming
Go for an invigorating swim in The Fairmont Chateau Whistler lap pool, or relax
in one of the four the hot tubs, Eucalyptus steam rooms, or sauna.

Alpine Sightseeing and Hiking
Ride high-tech lifts to the wonderful alpine world. High above the Village
on Whistler Mountain you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through alpine meadows
bursting with wildflowers and hike marked trails that lead to serene alpine
lakes.
Whistler Mountain's fully enclosed gondola will whisk you to the alpine in comfort. Sightseeing passes are available at the Whistler Activity and Information Centre.
Whistler Mountain
Whistler Mountain's summer program includes informal walks by qualified mountain
hosts eager to share their knowledge of the local history, flora and fauna. The
mountain also features seven designated hiking trails, each with varying degrees
of difficulty and accessibility. Glacier tours are also available in the early
summer. Before the snow pack recedes, take in a guided trek on snowshoes or in a
snowcoach and access special wildlife viewing and photo opportunities with the
whole family.
Blackcomb Mountain
Take an informative and exciting tour of Blackcomb Mountain and the surrounding
valley on an All Terrain Vehicle Tour. Climb aboard a modern and quiet ATV and
let a professional guide lead you along a variety of trails and open play areas.
A great rainy day activity.
Children's Programs:
Whistler/ Blackcomb- Whistler Summer Kids is a daily drop-in program for children ages 18 months to 14 years. In our mountain playground, the opportunities for adventure are endless. Activities include hiking, canoeing, windsurfing, rock climbing, arts and crafts, wildlife and nature discussions and more.
Recreation Center - Meadow Park Sports Centre is a full-facility recreation center with an ice arena, squash courts, fitness center, six lane swimming pool, children's fun pool and outdoor water park. Join other children for activities such as canoeing, swimming, sailing and other sports as well as field trips, theatre and games.
Climbing and Mountaineering
Discover Whistler's spectacular back country with a professional guide, from
day-hikes to expeditions. All guides are SCMG certified.
Fishing
Sign up for guided summer fishing trips to secret valley and alpine locations,
accessed by 4x4 vehicle, boat, helicopter or plane. 'Catch and release' is
strongly encouraged. Licenses are required and can be purchased at various
locations throughout the Valley.
Fitness Centers
Get in a workout at hotel's gym or Whistler's fitness center. Aerobic, body
building and personal weight training programs are also available.
Flightseeing
Various companies in the area provide a range of tours from a 20-minute
sightseeing trip to an all-day excursion with a gourmet lunch on a glacier.
Eliminate the uphill climb and spend the day wandering through alpine meadows or
discovering alpine lakes. Use your imagination - fly in for a three-day camping
trip with the family or try a heli-mountain bike trip: fly in, ride out. Charter
service is available from a number of helicopter and floatplane companies.
Golf
The Sea to Sky corridor offers seven spectacular golf courses in the Sea to Sky
area. Four of the courses are designer courses including the Chateau Whistler
Golf Club designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Tee time reservations
recommended.
Hiking
Day or overnight hikes are available on the myriad of self-guided park routes in
the Valley and on surrounding mountains. Heli-hiking trips offer even more
exciting alpine adventures. The best time for hiking is from July to October,
when you can view a wide variety of flora and fauna. Trail maps and campsite
information are available at the Whistler Activity and Information Centre.
Horseback Riding
Join in on an unforgettable day of fun, riding through lush meadows, across
rivers and along shaded lakeside paths. Or, saddle up and explore the
alpine terrain of Whistler Mountain or on the lower part of Blackcomb Mountain.
In-Line Skating
Skaters can enjoy the paved trail system that winds its way throughout the
Valley. Skates and safety equipment rentals, as well as clinics are available
through many of Whistler's sport stores.
Library
Lose yourself in a good book at the Whistler Public Library, located in Village
North.
Massage/ Spa Services
Leave the world behind at the new Vida Wellness Spa, Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
With a holistic approach to heal and healing, choose from a wide range of unique
treatments designed to relax the body and restore natural balance.
Mini Golf
Play a round at an 18-hole mini golf course with holes named after Blackcomb's
most inspiring ski terrain.
Mountain Biking
Whistler offers unsurpassed biking experiences, from paved paths and heli-biking
to alpine tours and thrilling mountain descents. Rent a bike by the hour, by the
day, or take a guided tour which includes a mountain bike and accessories.

ages can take in spectacular views while experiencing the thrill of off-roading.
Racquet Sports

River Rafting/ Jet Boating
Local rafting companies offer everything from an hour long float trip to a
multi-day adventure exploring the many rivers in the Whistler area. Jet boaters
will see adventure-seekers zipping through the headwaters to view waterfalls and
wildlife, and then riding the waves for an unforgettable thrill.
Scenic and whitewater rafting excursions, 'Raft and Dine' and 'Saddle and Paddle' trips are available on local lakes and rivers through many local rafting companies.
Swimming
Go for an invigorating swim in The Fairmont Chateau Whistler lap pool, or relax
in one of the four hot tubs and Eucalyptus steam rooms. There are also
many beautiful lakes to enjoy in the Whistler valley.
