Local Seasons:
Mississauga offers four distinct seasons. Summer daytime temperatures reach
around 26C/80F and the evenings dropping near 16C/60F. Winter is moderated by
the lake but is somewhat damp with highs around 0C/32F and lows in the -7C/20F
range. The well treed city is particularly attractive in fall when foliage
turns.

Windsor-Detroit to Quebec), Highway 403 (to Hamilton), Highway 407 (toll route
across the north end of the city), Highway 410 (to Brampton), and the Queen

Mississauga is on three major railways, which lead into Toronto; the GO Transit
commuter rail service provides service to Toronto's Union Station double-decked,
green and white, and the cars are shaped like elongated hexagons.

The Greater Toronto Area's GO Transit service also provides an extensive
intercity bus service, which connects Mississauga to downtown Toronto and
neighbouring suburbs. GO Buses are not double-decked, but they are also
characterized by a green and white colour scheme. Most GO Buses are coaches. GO
Bus connects to the TTC Subway.

Currency: All
visitors should use Canadian currency when traveling within Canada. It is best
to have local currency on hand prior to arriving; contact your local bank.

offices of foreign exchange brokers.
Taxes for Travellers
The provincial retail sales tax is
8%; on accommodations it's 5%. There is an additional 7% national
goods-and-services tax (GST).
TIP: Non-Canadian residents are entitled to claim a rebate of all GST
paid on accommodations and certain categories of goods purchases (see Canadian
Travel Information on this site).

receipts), and be sure the name and address of the establishment is shown on the
